Dan has worked in sales and management positions within the life insurance and investment industry for over 30 years. Over the past 15 years have been spent with Empire Life and Empire Life Investments. A graduate of the University of Alberta, majoring in finance, Dan has been involved in education within the industry, including instructing the Canadian Securities Course (1985-2000) and contract work in curriculum and course development for the Canadian Securities Institute and the TSX Venture Exchange. In 2005 Dan was appointed to the Insurance Council of British Columbia and in 2007 he became a Voting Member of the council. Dan was elected Chair of the Insurance Council in June of 2011. Dianne, Dan's wife of 30 years, is an Associate Estate & Insurance Advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns. They have two children, Kristin a primary school teacher, and David who is completing his Master’s Degree at SFU.
