Quarterly Morning Seminar Series - March 28, 2012

Join us at the Vancouver Convention Centre East on March 28, 2012 for another informative Breakfast Seminar provided by Advocis Greater Vancouver.

This special breakfast will be held on day two of The World MoneyShow Vancouver, March 27-29, 2012. Advocis Members and guests are invited to attend the three-day conference at no charge: at the Show you’ll find over 70 lively sessions featuring first-hand market advice from over 40 leading gurus on topics like the markets, stocks, ETFs and mutual funds, currencies, options, income, futures, commodities, and strategies; and an Exhibit Hall featuring widely-held publicly listed companies like General Electric, Procter & Gamble, Aflac, and Royal Dutch Shell.

The first day of the conference, which takes place the day before the Advocis Quarterly Breakfast Seminar, features keynote addresses from Linda Nazareth, Marin Katusa, Larry Berman and more; a closing keynote from Marc Faber; public company and resource investing panels; and a welcoming reception and Exhibit Hall grand opening. Paul Brown

As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Paul is responsible for strategically expanding Worldsource Financial Management's overall wealth management platform for independent advisors. As Managing Director of Worldsource Wealth Management (WWM), Paul plays a principal role in ensuring the overall collaboration of WWM's subsidiaries - to support and complement the needs of entrepreneurial advisors from each sector.

Paul brings extensive executive experience in the financial services sector to WFM. Most recently he was President and CEO of Barrington Wealth Partners Inc. Prior to Barrington, over a period of more than 10 years, he built a successful insurance distribution business, The Independent Brokerage Group, which was acquired by Hub International Ltd. in 1999. Paul also served as Chairman and CEO of Hub Financial Inc., one of the country's largest life insurance distributors.

Paul is the current President of CAILBA, the national MGA association.  He has an Economics degree from The University of Western Ontario and also has his CLU and ChFc designations.

     

 

 

Phil Marsillo, CLU

Phil has been with Canada Life for almost 19 years and in his current position as Senior Vice-President, Canada Life Distribution since July 2003.

Previous to this, he was Vice-President, Individual Distribution from 1999 to 2003. He also held a senior management role as Director, Eastern Operations from 1998 to 1999, guiding the sales and marketing activity for Individual Operations east of Ontario. He began his career with Canada Life in 1993 when he joined the company as manager of Quebec’s brokerage office after being a successful agent, trainer and sales manager for several years.

Phil is deeply committed to forging and maintaining strong relationships with advisors, MGAs and National Accounts in the Canada Life distribution channel. He also strongly believes in helping them grow their business association with Canada Life.

Phil is actively involved in the industry. He is a board member of Investors Group Insurance Services and a member on a number of steering committees of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA). He has been past chair of the Education Committee, past chair of the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) Institute and past board member of the Association des Intermédiares en Assurance de Personnes du Québec (AIAPQ). He’s also a past member of the Distribution Leaders Round Table (DLRT) Committee for LIMRA International and a member on a number of steering committees of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA).

Topic: Conquering Client Fatigue

The financial crisis has left many clients and prospects anxious and overwhelmed, resulting in a condition called Client Fatigue. This presentation covers the causes and the science behind Client Fatigue, but more importantly, it will outline specific strategies for conquering it. This is an interactive presentation where advisors will have an opportunity to discuss Client Fatigue situations they are facing and strategies for resolving them. It also addresses the issue of Advisor Fatigue and ways to reduce its impact.
