Join Advocis Greater Vancouver on Thursday, January 19, 2017 for a delicious lunch and an open panel discussion on engaging the LGBTQ community in all aspects of financial and family planning. Whether married, living common-law or single, persons in the LGBTQ community face financial planning opportunities and challenges like any other client. Yet, understanding both the financial and legal issues, as well as the personal nuances, is key to providing value to these clients.

About the Speakers
|Glynis Davisson – Financial Planner, TD Waterhouse Financial Planning
With over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry Glynis has been actively engaged in fostering strong client relationships and helping LGBTQ clients achieve their personal financial goals. Having worked specifically in the West End, both at the retail branch and wealth planning side for 20 years she welcomes the diversity that this community offers, supporting the neighborhood both professionally and personally.
|Edward Lee – Wealth Protection Specialist, Vancity Life Insurance Services
Edward has experience as an elementary school teacher, an Account Executive with Atari, Unisys and Apple Canada, he has been an independent Restauranteur, a Life Insurance Broker and is currently a Wealth Protection Specialist with Vancity Life Insurance. Edward hosts seminars to assist Vancity members with planning for home purchasing, estate planning and works daily with individuals to design specific protection plans to meet their diverse needs.
|Monique Shebbeare – Monique Shebbeare Law Corporation
Monique Shebbeare is a wills, estates and fertility lawyer, based in Kitsilano. Monique helps individuals and couples with their estate planning, preparing wills, powers of attorney, and representation agreements for clients, as well as assisting executors with obtaining probate. She also works in the very modern world of fertility law, providing advice about legal parentage and preparing surrogacy agreements as well as sperm, egg and embryo donation agreements. She is a member of Fertility Law BC, a working group of lawyers developing best practices for fertility law.
She is happy to work in BC, one of the most progressive provinces in Canada when it comes to legally recognizing the diversity of families.
