The Role of The Director of Professional Conduct

As Director of Professional Conduct for the past 3½ years, I have fortunately only been made aware of a small number of complaints with regards to the conduct of our chapter’s membership.

Even more fortunately, none of these issues escalated to the point of sanctions by Advocis.

The Role of Fellowship Committee Chair

As many of you may be aware, this year I am wearing three hats for Advocis Greater Vancouver.  In addition to serving as Vice-President, and Director of Professional Conduct, I also have the honour of chairing the Fellowship Committee.

The Role of the Co-Chair

Carl D. Presland, CFP

Co-Chair Membership

Why being a part of the Vancouver Chapter of Advocis as Membership Chair means a lot to me. I have been a member of Advocis for my entire career, even though my roles in the industry have changed many times. So at one point a friend asked me “why are you not more involved in your local chapter?”

The Role of the Treasurer

Leslie Carpenter, CFP, CIM

Treasurer

I have enjoyed being the local Chapter Treasurer for the last 3 years. The majority of all administrative duties are done by an outside company (Support Services Unlimited) with the Treasurer’s major duties being at the planning level. The budgets are worked out with each Committee Chair taking in to consideration the income of the entire budget and keeping the spending in line with the focus the Board is taking.
